Gym Vibe

It's finally turned HOT in northern California (we've had an unusually mild summer) so rather than going for a walk, I went to water aerobics last night. I generally meet a friend for after work walking or water aerobics (on hot days) and due to her schedule we had to go to a gym (I'm a member of 24 Hour Fitness so have a few choices in the Sacramento area) that isn't our usual.

I actually enjoyed myself last night. There is a different vibe at the location we went to versus the two that we usually hit. It's bigger and newer. And the huge ceiling fans over the treadmills are oh so helpful on a hot evening. I walked for 20 minutes on the treadmill and then hit water aerobics. The instructor was really energetic and used loud music. It was fun! The first time I looked at the clock was 40 minutes into the class. Other classes have me watching the clock within the first 5 minutes.

Who knew that switching up a gym location could help with my attitude re exercise. I'm planning to go back tonite. No class, but I'll walk on the treadmill and then run in the pool (thank goodness for a waterproof case for the iPod!).

I'm still struggling somewhat re food choices. But the gym location I'm hitting tonite is close to a Trader Joe's. Hopefully stocking up on healthy choices will help in that regard.

glad you found some remotivation from the new place. Hope you have another good night there. As for the food, stocking up on healthy is a great plan. I know if I dont' have the junk in the house and I have good choices I do so much better.
