So I set off this morning in plenty of time to make my flight. I had a smallish duffle on wheels (and BTW, what a great invention those wheels on luggage are!), my backpack purse and my tennies. Plus it was terrific (as usual) San Diego weather. So I was set.
The funny thing was the number of cabs that stopped or gave me a high sign thinking that I must need a ride. I probably looked a little goofy with work clothes, tennies and pulling my duffle, but it sure felt good to kill two birds with one stone -- getting to the airport and getting some exercise. Thankfully, San Diego had sidewalks all the way to the airport (I was nervous about navigating some streets, but it didn't come to that). And, I think the distance predicted by the iPhone was a little short once I got inside the airport and to the terminal.
Unfortunately, I live in suburbia, which is much more geared to cars. But I can and will make it a point to walk more often at least to the grocery store.
I continue to struggle somewhat with eating (I had out-of-town guests this weekend, two birthday parties, yesterday's ballgame and probably a whole lot of other excuses), but I'm not giving up. I can't. All I can do is hang in there and start again!
Happy Monday.
Petco Park - a gorgeous place to watch some pennant race baseball

With a view like this, who wouldn't want to walk (even schlepping luggage)

Great thinking to check the mileage to the airport! Looks like a lovely walk!
Hats off to you :) what a great story. Hey that looks like the local college down my way minus most of the boats but a few of the front one *smile*. Glad you made it and enjoyed the walk.
Sherre, I love that you did that! Good for you girl!!! :)
Nice weblog, just looking close to some blogs, seems a fairly nice platform you' re using. I' m presently using Wordpress for a few of my sites but looking to alter one of them over to a platform similar to yours as a trial operate. Anything in specific you' d recommend about it?
Ya know, I've never really thought about that before... The grocery store is exactly 1/2 mile away, I should start walking to the grocery store when I need to pick up a few things!
