Hot weather, Mexican food and socializing

These are my challenges this week. The hot weather makes it tough to walk outside (which is my exercise of choice). But I'm not complaining. Northern California has had an extraordinarily mild summer. We were just bound to get a few days of 100+ degrees which hit this week. And I have managed in spite of the heat. I just suspect I would have gotten more steps in if it had remained mild.

Mexican food is my downfall. Last night I went for Mexican and ordered a salad with shrimp and grilled veggies. Yummy. But oh so spicy. So spicy (and I actually like spicy) I couldn't eat much of it. So I turned to the guac and chips. (In hindsight, they probably shouldn't have been on the table, but hindsight is 20-20 after all.) And socializing. I met friends on Wednesday and failed in my no alcohol goal by having two cocktails. I did forego the margarita last night, which I'm counting in the plus column.

I'm still journaling, getting water in, moving (just not as much as I'd like). The long weekend ahead makes me a bit nervous, but I'll be out of town, so hopefully that will prevent the grazing that often comes with weekends. Plus I'm taking my bike. Which, along with some walking, should ensure some activity points.

Have a terrific long weekend!

Yea those darn chips will get ya, better luck next time I say. Good for you for taking your bike, if you plan on doing plenty of biking and walking the possible extra food won't really hurt you to much.

Whoa, 100+...now that's hot for walking. Mexican food is my downfall too...especially all the rice and cheese. I just need to stay away.

Good for you for giving up the margarita - again, good, but a killer.
